Why
When and how we work in the office is constantly changing. Especially the middle zone away from the classic working at the desk offers free space for exciting new solutions. Palmberg – one of the most successful office furniture manufacturers in Europe – has recognized this and commissioned us to develop new concepts.
How
We asked ourselves:
What happens in the middle zone?
How diverse are the tasks and requirements?
Where is our focus (individual solution, furniture system, visual protection, sound insulation, etc.)?
Through an analysis of competition and requirements, strategic thematic areas emerged for which we developed a wide range of concepts. The concrete development of Layers was advanced in different model and prototype stages in M 1:1 in close cooperation with the Palmberg R&D team.
What
Layers consists of combined seat and table elements in different heights (420, 750 and 1050mm) and a low bench (300mm). The elements can be freely combined. This creates unusual constellations and degrees of freedom – and thus creates the casual conditions for informal exchange, change of perspective or concentrated work.
Layers was presented at Orgatech 2022 in Cologne and is now available in a selection of fabrics and surfaces.
