For Vaillant, the global leader in heating technology, we designed a cross-platform interface control system tailored to both end users and professional installers.
A dynamically programmed motion graphic – the Halo – communicates the status of all rooms at a glance and allows for interactive control of the heat pump. The Halo, Vaillant’s signature UI element, has been further developed as an evolutionary design feature and now defines the look and feel of the app. A flat navigation structure enables intuitive orientation. Core structures, controls, and visual elements are used consistently across platforms, making apps and devices instantly recognizable as part of the same product family.
Smart features – such as an extended scheduler and detailed energy view – support effortless personalization. The result: efficient operation, quick orientation, and clear insight into energy consumption.
Professionals benefit from a dedicated installer interface that provides a comprehensive system overview, full access to all device functions, and over-the-air updates for future features.
The commissioning process is significantly simplified. Flat menu structures, animated graphics, and full-touch control speed up operation by approximately 50% and help reduce errors.
We were closely involved in all phases of the project – from early-stage studies with simulations and the complete design process to supporting usability tests with advanced prototypes. A comprehensive and future-proof design system ensures seamless expansion of functionality.
